Clover Android ROM quarterly updates
Third quarter 2023
Each quarter, Clover updates the Clover Android ROM (operating system) on Clover devices. ROM updates contain essential bug fixes, security updates, and necessary feature additions.
Clover Android ROM update schedule
- Sandbox—In the first week of July 2023, we will release the Q3 Android ROM update to the sandbox environment.
- Production—Starting the third week of July and lasting for several weeks, merchants in the production environment will receive the ROM update according to our release schedule.
Occasionally, Clover may make urgent hotfix releases in addition to regular quarterly releases. We will notify you of any major releases that involve an Android API level change.
Recommendation for developers
The ROM updates do not change the Android version or API level, so you do not need to update your app. However, Clover recommends that you test your applications in the sandbox environment for the new Android ROM before we release the ROM to merchants in the production environment.
