The final step in the functional review process involves reviewing the information you have entered on your app’s Details page in the production environment. After your app is approved, this information is public on the Clover App Market.

The following checklist helps us review all your submitted information.

Headline and description

Use an accurate and relevant app headline and description that should guide the merchants about the purpose and function of your app.

App description

Include any additional setup or requirements, including another app or hardware, for merchants to use your app.

App category

App categories allow Clover to categorize the approval requirements for the target businesses for which your app is designed.

Define your app's category to target specific merchant businesses and ensure a smooth approval with Clover's App Market team. App categories allow Clover to categorize the approval requirements for the target businesses for which your app is designed.

You must select at least one functional and vertical category before submitting your app for approval. The selected category is displayed on the Market Listing page of your app.

You can select up to three functional app categories, and as many vertical categories as relevant to your target merchants and their businesses. You can change app categories at any time and revisions are automatically approved.

🚧

Important

The existing categories are now reorganized for clarity and you can also see new categories. You can review the app categories, and if needed, update yours on the Developer Dashboard to align with your target users.

App logo

Use an easily identifiable that is distinguishable from other apps and relevant to your app’s core function. Make sure that you have the required access rights to use your chosen app icon.

Screenshots and video

Use app screenshots and videos on the Market Listing as an opportunity to showcase app features. These also provide basic onboarding for merchants even before they have installed your app.

Naming limitations

Any of the following entities must not include the term Clover in them:

  • App name (including the APK name for your Android app)
  • Website name
  • Support email address domain (clover@domain_name.com is allowed)

Free apps vs apps with subscription tiers or metered pricing

For your paid app, you must set the subscription tiers or metered pricing for every App Market location where your app is supported.

For your free app, we will follow up with you about possible monetization in the future.

FAQs and support information

You must have a support website with your app's FAQs, privacy policy, terms of service (TOS), support email address and phone numbers.

Privacy policy and TOS URLs

Include functional links (URLs) for your privacy policy and terms of service.
See App approval to complete the Legal & Privacy steps and list your app on the Clover App Market.
