App administration checklist

The final step in the functional review process involves reviewing the information you have entered on your app’s Details page in the production environment. After your app is approved, this information is public on the Clover App Market.

The following checklist helps us review all your submitted information.

Headline and description

Both the app headline and description must feel accurate and not mislead merchants in any manner.

App description

The app description must include any additional setup or requirements, including another app or hardware, for merchants to your this app.

App category

Define your app's category to target specific merchant businesses and ensure a smooth approval with Clover's App Market team. App categories allow Clover to categorize the approval requirements for the target businesses your app is designed for.

You must select at least one functional and vertical category before submitting your app for approval. The selected category appears in the Market Listing page of your app.

You can select up to three functional app categories, and as many vertical categories as relevant to your target merchants and their businesses. You can change app categories at any time. Revisions will be automatically approved.

App logo

The icon must be easily identifiable (to be distinguishable from other apps) and relevant to your app’s core function. Please make sure that you have the rights needed to use your chosen app icon.

Screenshots & video

The app screenshots and video on the Market Listing are an opportunity for you to showcase app features and also provide basic onboarding for merchants even before they have installed your app.

Naming limitations

Any of the following entities must not include the term Clover in them:

  • App name (including the APK name for your Android app)
  • Website name
  • Support email address domain ([email protected] is allowed)

Free apps vs apps with subscription tiers or metered pricing

For your paid app, subscription tiers or metered pricing must be set up for every App Market location your app is supported in.

For your free app, we will follow up with you about possible monetization in the future.

FAQs and support information

You must have a support website with your app's FAQs, privacy policy, terms of service (TOS), support email address, and phone number listed.

Privacy policy and TOS URLs

The URLs for your privacy policy and TOS must be functional.

See App approval to complete the Legal & Privacy steps and list your app on Clover's App Market.
