Customers API permission changes - May 13th, 2019
In the EU, we are changing how much customer data is accessed by apps using the Customers endpoint.
By June 21st, 2019, please fill out the following survey to inform how one or more of your apps on the Clover App Market is/are using personally identifiable information (PII) about customers in your apps.
Customers PII justification form
Every element in the Customers endpoint is considered PII. PII collection, storage, and use is regulated by laws applicable to the region(s) you and your partner merchants operate in.
From your survey response, if we learn that your app requires just the CUSTOMERS_R
or CUSTOMERS_W
permissions, your app’s access to the Customer endpoint will be reduced to the following subset of PII:
id
(Customer UUID)merchant.id
(Merchant UUID)firstName
lastName
customerSince
If we do not receive your completed survey by the June 21st, 2019 deadline, your app will lose complete access to all Customer endpoint data.
For more information about how Clover is restructuring access to customer data with the Customers endpoint in the EU, see our documentation about Customers API EU permissions.
