We’ve almost reached the season where every radio station is playing slightly different versions of “Let it Snow” and Clover merchants are gearing up for the oncoming increase in sales.
To accommodate merchants during this increase in customer spending, Clover enacts a code freeze on releases, which we have historically expanded to third-party apps.
This year, we’ve re-examined our policies and have decided to change the way we approach app and APK approvals from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day. Here’s the high-level view of how we’ll be handling apps and APKs.
Since holiday spending affects a subset of merchant verticals, we will continue with app approvals through the holidays. Merchants browsing the App Market through the holiday rush are more likely to sell in a vertical unaffected by holiday shopping.
APK approvals will freeze from November 23rd – December 2nd and again from December 14th – January 2nd
Between these dates, no APKs will be approved for publication.
If your app is not a semi-integration and doesn’t include any write permissions to run, we will approve the APK normally. Any other APK update will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If your APK fixes critical bugs in your app, email [email protected] with an explanation about the fixes you’re enacting, and we will evaluate whether or not we can allow the update.
During this time, we will not be updating APIs, SDKs, to or other services.
We are excited to approve your app as quickly as possible; however, many of our team members will be celebrating the holidays with their families. We appreciate your patience during these weeks.
